Why pregnancy is like project management – part 2

Following on from part 1
Congratulations, you’ve passed the stage 1 project review and received the all clear to move on to stage 2.
Your steering committee consists of your obstetrician, midwife, phlebotomist, nurse and any other interested person that feels like sticking their nose in.
Your project sponsor (if you have one) is the “lucky” spouse or partner.

Stage 2 brief

The focus of this stage is to progress the project to the point of viability.


To be reported to your steering committee on a monthly basis:

  • Blood pressure
  • Weight
  • Any other symptoms


This stage is due to take 13 weeks


As much as you think you will spend and double it.


Stage 2 gate review to move on to stage 3 at the 28 week appointment
