Add test case form

This popup form can be accessed via the Add menu iconadd menu in the top header area of the Project iconproject or Subproject iconsub-project view pages, as shown in Figure 1. Alternatively you can access the add test caseadd popup form at the bottom of the Test cases tab at these same view pages, as shown in Figure 2. You may also add a Test case icontest case to an already existing test case or folder listed in the Test cases tab via the Actions menu iconactions column menu, to create a hierarchy of test cases, as indicated in Figure 3.

This popup is shown in Figure 4 and is used to Add iconadd a new test case for the selected asset.

This form has the following fields:
Parent asset:These read-only fields show the Contact details iconorganisation, Programme iconprogramme, project and (if applicable) sub-project levels and the lowest field indicates which asset this test case is being made for.
Reference*:This mandatory field is used to specify a reference for this new test case, e.g. TC_001. The reference must be unique within your project or sub-project. If you click on the Reference icon“Find next reference” icon button next to the reference field then the system will find the next available reference number. For example if you enter the reference TC_000 then the system will try TC_001, TC_002 etc until it finds an available value.
Title*:Enter the title for this test case here. This would typically be the name of the Product iconproduct or solution that you want to evaluate against the Requirements iconrequirements of the asset. The title must be unique across the whole project or sub-project.
Pre-conditions:Enter the pre-conditions for this new test case here.
Description:Enter a description of this new test case here.
Workflow:Use this drop-down list to select the applicable Workflow iconworkflow for this requirement. You can define your own workflows if you do not want to use the system default workflow, or you may select the ‘None’ option if you do not want to assign a workflow to this new test case.
Add more:Select this check box if you’d like to keep this form open and add more test cases to this asset once the current test case has been created.
Once you are happy with your data, click the “Add test case” button at the bottom of the form. This will add the new test case with the information that has been supplied. The new test case can be viewed in the Test cases tab asset listing at the parent asset’s view page, as shown in Figure 5. The addition of this new tab will also be incorporated into the Test case overview dashlet at this same page, as shown in Figure 6.

Click the “Cancel” button if you no longer want to add a new test case.
