\"Actions<\/a>Workflow actions<\/strong> are executed in sequence when a \"Workflow<\/a>workflow<\/a> reaches a particular \"icon_lifecyclestate\"<\/a>state<\/a>.\r\n\r\nYou can add any number of actions to a workflow state that will be executed when an asset reaches that state. There are a number of difference action types supported:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Action type<\/th>\r\nDescription<\/th>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Assign<\/strong><\/td>\r\nStore a temporary variable. The value for the variable can be calculated from a complex expression.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Email<\/strong><\/td>\r\nSend an email message.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
If<\/strong><\/td>\r\nUsed to test if a certain condition is true before executing a sub-set of actions.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Else<\/strong><\/td>\r\nCan only be used in conjunction with an If action to provide action sets that must be executed if the If<\/strong> condition evaluates to false.<\/strong><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Wait<\/strong><\/td>\r\nWait for a certain duration before executing a sub-set of actions,e.g. waiting for 5 days from the start date of a timesheet before sending a reminder email.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
After change<\/strong><\/td>\r\nExecute a sub-set of actions after a change on the object that this workflow is attached to.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
For<\/strong><\/td>\r\nExecute a sub-set of actions on each key\/value pair of an array, these key\/value pairs can be used on the children actions.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\nSome action types are only available in certain circumstances,e.g. Else<\/strong> actions can only be added to If<\/strong> actions.\r\n\r\nNote:<\/strong> Any Wait<\/strong> actions that are still outstanding when an asset changes state are automatically cancelled.<\/div>\r\n
