{"id":750,"date":"2016-09-21T16:30:43","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T04:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/help.psoda.com\/?page_id=750"},"modified":"2020-11-26T14:54:57","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T01:54:57","slug":"a562","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/help\/a562\/","title":{"rendered":"Recalculate critical path form"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='content-column three_fourth'>This <a href=\"\/help\/a7\">popup<\/a> form is used to recalculate the critical path for the selected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/program.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"icons_img alignnone size-full wp-image-169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/program.svg\" alt=\"Programme icon\" width=\"25\" height=\"20\" \/><\/a>programme, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/project.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"icons_img alignnone size-full wp-image-168\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/project.svg\" alt=\"Project icon\" width=\"23\" height=\"22\" \/><\/a>project or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/taskgroup.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"icons_img alignnone size-full wp-image-709\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/taskgroup.svg\" alt=\"working task group\" width=\"25\" height=\"22\" \/><\/a>task group.\r\n\r\nBefore the critical path is recalculated the critical flags for all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/task.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"icons_img alignnone size-full wp-image-142\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/task.svg\" alt=\"Task map icon\" width=\"25\" height=\"20\" \/><\/a>tasks and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/milestone.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"icons_img alignnone size-full wp-image-174\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psoda.com\/images\/icons\/darkgrey\/milestone.svg\" alt=\"Milestones icon\" width=\"20\" height=\"22\" \/><\/a>milestones of the selected asset are reset.\r\n\r\nThe critical path is calculated by:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Find all of the tasks\/milestones with the latest end dates<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Follow all of the predecessor links where the gap is less than 1 hour<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>If there are no predecessor links with gaps less than one hour then this becomes the starting point of a possible critical path<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>From all of the possible critical paths select those with the earliest start date<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Mark all of the tasks\/milestones along the critical path<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nThe critical paths are calculated for both the estimated schedule as well as the forecast schedule (i.e. based on the actual + estimated effort to complete).\r\n\r\nThe form shows the hierarchy for the selected asset.
