This popup<\/a> form is used to load a new\/updated schedule into Psoda from a MS Project XML file.\r\n\r\nIf you have a normal MS Project file then you have to open that file in MS Project first and save it as an XML file.\r\n\r\nThe import process has a number of phases:\r\n

Phase 1 – Select file and import options<\/h4>\r\nThe first phase is to select the file to import and set the options. The form will have the following fields:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Location:<\/th>\r\nThis read-only field shows the location you selected to import the file.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
MS Project XML file*<\/em><\/sup>:<\/th>\r\nYou must select the XML file that you want to import. The file must be less than 8MBytes. If you have a large file you can either zip or gzip the file before uploading to Psoda.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Mark all tasks as advanced estimates?:<\/th>\r\nIf you MS Project file contains tasks with time-phased estimates then set this checkbox so that all the imported tasks use the Advanced Estimates setting in Psoda.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Import start\/end dates?:<\/th>\r\nIf you set this checkbox then the start\/end dates from your MS Project file will be used as fixed start\/end dates in Psoda.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\nIf you already have a task group in your programme\/project then you will get some additional options in this form:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Update WBS or Task group:<\/th>\r\nUse this drop-down to select an existing WBS\/Task group to update instead of creating a new WBS\/Task group. If you do want to create a new WBS\/Task group select the None<\/strong> option.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Baseline WBS before update:<\/th>\r\nSet this checkbox if you want to baseline the selected WBS\/Task group first before loading the new MS Project file.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n*<\/em><\/sup>The MS Project XML file field is the only mandatory field, all the others are optional.\r\n

Phase 2 – Resource mapping<\/h4>\r\nDuring this step you get the opportunity to map the resources from your MS Project file to Psoda roles and\/or users.\r\n\r\nIf the corresponding role\/user does not exist in Psoda you can use the options to add new roles\/users. These options will only be available if you have permissions to add roles\/users.\r\n\r\nIf you do not want to proceed with the import then this is the last opportunity to “Cancel”.\r\n

Phase 3 – Import<\/h4>\r\nDuring this phase the MS Project is imported into Psoda. You will see a progress indicator. Once the import is finished the button at the bottom of the form will change to Next<\/strong>.\r\n

Phase 4 – Results<\/h4>\r\nThe final phase shows you the results of the import.<\/div>\r\n
