This popup<\/a> form can be accessed via the \"Add<\/a>add menu in the top header area of the\u00a0selected\u00a0asset<\/a> view page (e.g. \"issues<\/a>issue<\/a>, \"Product<\/a>product<\/a>, \"Release<\/a>release<\/a>, \"Project<\/a>project<\/a> or \"Programme<\/a>programme<\/a>), as shown in Figure 1.\r\n

This popup is shown in Figure 2 and is used to add a new \"Change<\/a>change request<\/a> for the selected asset.<\/p>\r\n

Figure 2 – Add change request form<\/strong><\/p>\r\nThis form has the following fields:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Asset:<\/th>\r\nThis read-only<\/em> field shows which release, product, issue, project or programme you are adding the change request to. The name of this field will vary depending on the parent asset type.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Reference*:<\/th>\r\nUse this field to enter a unique reference<\/a> for your change request. If you enter a prefix and end it with one or more zeros, e.g. CR_00, then you can click on the \"Reference<\/a>“Find next reference” button to search for the next available reference number with the same prefix and number of digits.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Title*<\/em><\/sup>:<\/th>\r\nThis mandatory field is used to specify a title for the change request.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Category:<\/th>\r\nThis drop-down list can be used to select a category for your change request.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
(New category):<\/th>\r\nThis field can be used to add a new category, it will only be available if you have selected the “Add a new category” option of the drop-list provided in the Category<\/strong> field above.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Description:<\/th>\r\nYou can add a short description of your change request here.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Implications:<\/th>\r\nUse this field to list any implications or advantages gained by implementing this change.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Required by:<\/th>\r\nEnter the date this change is required by using one of the supported date formats<\/a> or through the use of \"choose<\/a>calendar control<\/a>.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Priority:<\/th>\r\nEnter a priority for your change request here. This priority can be used when sorting change requests in lists.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Origin:<\/th>\r\nUse this field to capture the origin of the change, for example a customer contact. Your name is put in by default.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Start date:<\/th>\r\nEnter the start date of this change request by using one of the supported date formats<\/a> or through the use of \"choose<\/a>calendar control<\/a>.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
End date:<\/th>\r\nEnter the end date of this change request by using one of the supported date formats<\/a> or through the use of \"choose<\/a>calendar control<\/a>.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Owner:<\/th>\r\nUse this drop-down list to select an owner for this change request from the drop-down list of \"icon_user\"<\/a>users<\/a>. This change request will then appear in the “My stuff” view of the owner.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Workflow:<\/th>\r\nUse this drop-down list to select the applicable \"Workflow<\/a>workflow<\/a> for this change request. You can define your own workflows if you do not want to use the system default workflow.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n*<\/em><\/sup>The title and reference fields are mandatory, but all others are optional.\r\n\r\nOnce you are happy with your entries click the “Add change request<\/strong>” button at the bottom of the form. This will add the new change request with the details that you supplied.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe new change request can be viewed in a number of locations, including the Change request<\/strong>s<\/strong> tab at the parent asset’s view page, as shown in Figure 4. Alternatively you can view the new change request from the parent asset’s dashboard<\/strong> in the Open Change Requests<\/strong> dashlet, as shown in Figure 5.\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n
