This popup<\/a> form can be accessed via the \"Edit<\/a>edit button in the top header area of the \"custom<\/a>custom field view page, as shown in Figure 1. Alternatively, you can access the \"Edit<\/a>edit popup form via the \"Actions<\/a>actions column menu of the Custom fields<\/strong> tab at these same (e.g. \"Contact<\/a>organisation, \"Programme<\/a>programme, \"Project<\/a>project or \"Defect<\/a>defect) view pages, as shown in Figure 2.\r\n

This popup is shown in Figure 3 and is used to edit an existing custom field<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n

Context:<\/th>\r\nThis read-only<\/em> field shows which organisation, programme, project or defect this custom field belongs to.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Title*<\/em><\/sup>:<\/th>\r\nEdit the short name for this custom field here. This will be displayed on the form for the data type that this new custom field applies to.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Section:<\/th>\r\nUse this drop-down field to select or change which group you would like to section this custom field off into.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
(New Section):<\/th>\r\nThis field will be available for you to assign this custom field to an entirely new section if you have selected the “Add a new section” option in the section<\/strong> field above.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Description:<\/th>\r\nEnter or edit the longer description for this custom field here.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Mandatory:<\/th>\r\nSelect this check box if you would like to make this custom field mandatory.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Include in selected details:<\/th>\r\nSelect this check box if you would like to display this custom field in the Selected details<\/strong> box on the context <\/strong>asset’s view page.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Codename*<\/em><\/sup>:<\/th>\r\nEdit the codename that can be used in report templates to identify this custom field. The codename must start with an alpha character and can contain alpha characters, numbers and underscores. The codename cannot contain any spaces.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Asset type:<\/th>\r\nUse this drop-down list to select the asset type that this custom field will apply to.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Field type:<\/th>\r\nThis read-only <\/em>field shows the selected type for this custom field.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
Default value:<\/th>\r\nSet or change the default value for this custom field. The format of the default value will depend on the field type<\/strong> that is shown in the field above.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\nOnce you are happy with your entries click the “Update custom field<\/strong>” button at the bottom of the form to save your changes.\r\n\r\nClick the Cancel<\/strong> button if you no longer want to make changes to this custom field.<\/div>\r\n
