Congratulations, you’ve discovered you’re pregnant (received the signed business case) and now the biggest project of your career is about to kick off. Welcome to stage 1, you are about to grow a brand new human!
Your steering committee consists of your obstetrician, midwife, phlebotomist, nurse and any other interested person that feels like sticking their nose in.
Your project sponsor (if you have one) is the “lucky” spouse or partner.
Stage 1 brief
Get through the first 13 weeks without killing yourself or someone else.
KPIs
To be reported to your steering committee on a monthly basis:

- Weight
Unofficial KPIs that you, the project manager, may find yourself measuring:
- How many times a day you vomit
- How many times a day you wee
- How many times a day you want to make this whole thing stop and go away
Schedule
This stage is due to take 13 weeks.
Budget
Zero, you won’t feel like leaving the house, never mind spending money.
