Two graduates join the Psoda team
We’re excited to announce that we’ve added two new members to the Psoda team.
Marina Voronova and Luke Hardiman have been appointed to two newly-created roles – as a user experience designer and a junior developer, respectively.
They join us after spending the summer working with us as paid interns, as part of the Summer of Tech programme. Marina studied Design Innovation majoring in Media Design at Victoria University of Wellington and Luke a Bachelor of Information Technology at Whitireia New Zealand.
We all know that getting a job after graduating can be stressful and hard without work experience or industry contacts – and that’s why we think the Summer of Tech programme is excellent.
Both Luke and Marina have high praise for Summer of Tech in helping them get started in their chosen careers.
“Summer of Tech goes really hard out to find you internships. Going straight from exams to a summer job and then onto a permanent role is pretty awesome,” says Luke.
Adds Marina: “Summer of Tech provides workshops to teach you how to prepare for interviews and create the best CV. It was really useful,” says Marina.
“Even if you don’t get job through Summer of Tech, you still get amazing experience and a great understanding of what it’s like out there in the workplace.”
Luke agrees: “The networking is brilliant. As a student, it’s not every day you get to sit down and have a coffee with a CEO or company founder. Meeting someone in that environment is a great way to get to know how they think and work.”
We’re happy to report both Luke and Marina are pretty thrilled to be working at a small, but fast-growing, company like Psoda…
“I enjoyed working at Psoda as an intern and am really excited to start my career as a designer here,” says Marina.
“I’m the only designer at Psoda at the moment, so I get to do everything. It’s different every day, and I get to discover and explore new skills.”
Adds Luke: “One of the main attractions of working at Psoda is that I wanted job where the coding was not boring or too regimented. I get to research and learn a lot of new things.”
Luke and Marina bring new perspectives and skills to the company. We look forward to the contribution they will make to the business and to help them grow and develop.
